Dear Editor,

The Vail Chorale is a vital part of the Greater Vail community as an all-volunteer, non-auditioned community chorus. We welcome singers from age 14 through adults of all ages who enjoy singing in four-part harmony. We were most disappointed to find that the announcement of our first rehearsal for the Fall 2016 season was omitted from the August print edition of The Vail Voice’s calendar. It’s difficult to find our announcement on The Vail Voice online calendar as there are four events listed for that date. We’d like readers to know that, even though our first rehearsal was on August 16th, it’s not too late to join – we are still welcoming new members.

In a recent Vail Voice, your editorial discussed the many ways that Vail residents have come together to create a thriving community, citing a number of organizations that bring folks together to create social capital. Although we were not listed at that time, The Vail Chorale is indeed such an organization. Folks who enjoy the camaraderie of choral singing, and those who enjoy performances of choral music, have had the opportunity to participate or attend our concerts for the past five years.

Now starting our sixth year, we rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Cienega High School and will perform our fall concerts on November 5th and 6th. For more information, please visit our website at www.thevailchorale.org, find us on Facebook, or email us at thevailchorale@gmail.com. We’re eager to have new members join us!
