Houghton/I-10 Interchange
The traffic switch to the new bridge occurred on 7/14/21. Crews will be connecting the on and off ramps to the new bridge and plans are under way for demolition of the old Houghton bridge. This will require full closures of I-10 while they remove the bridge. Reminder that the speed limit is 25 MPH in the work zone. Lane closures may occur on the interstate as crews finalize this phase of construction. Completion is set for Fall of this year.
Houghton/Valencia to Mary Ann Cleveland
Crews have made progress along Houghton Rd. Sidewalks, roadway lighting and box culvert drainage is being installed. Traffic has been placed back to its original configuration along Rita Rd. Traffic signals are going in at Rita Rd as well. As crews finish the drainage improvements, the new road subgrade will be placed for the future paving of Northbound Houghton Rd. Stay alert and remember the speed limit is 25 M.P.H. in the work zone.
