Tacos in Vail

Does your family celebrate “Taco Tuesday?” It’s a popular night in Vail homes, but it’s also one that requires plenty of chopping, dicing, cooking, and setting up a full taco bar in the kitchen. Let’s not even talk about the mess that’s left to clean up when you’re done. If you love tacos, but hate how labor intensive they can be, here are four surprisingly delicious places to get tacos in Vail (in no particular order).

1. Saguaro Corners

Since the new owner, Kade Mislinski took over Saguaro Corners, the menu has gone through some changes. One consistent on the menu is their taco platter.

These tacos are light but filling. You can choose from calabasitas, shrimp, fish, carnitas, beef, and chicken. Mix and match however you choose. No matter what variety you select, one thing is sure – you’re going to love your meal!

2. Hacienda del Lago

You wouldn’t think of a golf course having good tacos, but the del Lago restaurant’s tacos by chef Cody hit the spot! There are a variety of tacos you can choose from. Chicken, fish, and steak are staples here. Sometimes tacos also make it on the rotating monthly menu.

One important note about Hacienda del Lago’s tacos is that they don’t come with the expected rice and beans. If you’re hungry, you might want to get something else on the side to fill you up.

3. Papa Locos

Another place you wouldn’t think of for delicious tacos is a gas station. Yet that’s right where Papa Locos, a local favorite, is located. Stop in for your favorite taco variety, or have it delivered to your doorstep. No matter which option you choose, we’re certain you’ll be delighted by the meal you receive.

4. Valerias

Food trucks are quickly growing in popularity. In Vail, we have one staple food truck nestled conveniently between the tracks. Pick up dinner on your way home or dine on their enclosed patio. Their taco platter comes with three tacos, rice, and beans. Stop by and choose any type of taco you’re craving. Or, mix it up!

Now it’s your turn. Where’s your favorite place to get tacos in Vail?
