Years ago, Vail and eastside residents had to drive long distances to attend concerts. That changed in January of 2004 when Javalina’s first brought live music to Rita Ranch. After the coffee shop was sold in December of 2008, LAVA Music was formed to continue presenting concerts in comfortable, listening room settings. LAVA is now in its fifth season of presenting world-class concerts at Abounding Grace Sanctuary on Saturday evenings. The 200 seat sanctuary is located on the southeast side of Tucson at 2450 S. Kolb, so it is easily reachable by residents of Vail and metro Tucson. LAVA has three concerts in November, and we begin our spring series on January 14. Details are available at www.lavamusic.org.
